China Medical Equipment Fair - CMEF Autumn 2017
29 October – 1 November 2017
Kunming, P. R. China
Welcome to the presentation of the Federal Republic of Germany - WELCOME to the GERMAN PAVILION at CMEF Autumn 2017!
China continuously developed to be the biggest market for medical devices in Asia. China’s market demand for medical appliances is still growing, experiencing double-digit growth rates annually. In recent years, China’s medical device industry has seen significant sales increases and was valued at US$18.8 billion in 2016. This growth is projected to develop further and the market is expected to reach over US$24 billion by 2019.
Some of the main factors contributing to this positive growth in China are the increasing demand for better healthcare, growing competition between health institutions with foreign share ownership and an increasing shift in the sale of medical products to pharmacies, which in turn means that hospitals need to invest in new diagnostics and therapy. Also, China's 13th Five-Year Plan prioritizes health and innovation, which will improve prospects for foreign medical device manufacturers. Consequently, the growing Chinese market offers very promising future possibilities for the sophisticated medical technology "Made in Germany". Therefore CMEF offers an excellent opportunity for companies to explore the market for medical equipment in China. The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) in cooperation with the AUMA - Association of the German Trade Fair Industry are supporting a German group participation since 2010, giving 40 companies the platform to present their excellent products and to offer their renowned services to key players and decision makers in China in 2017. SPECTARIS e.V., Association of the German Medical Technology Industry as one of the initiating associations for the German participation is accompanying the German delegation and providing professional advice.
The German medical devices manufacturers industry is well known all over the world for their high level of innovation and product quality. The R&D quota is estimated over 9% of revenue which leads to a highly innovative industry. The high-quality brand of "Medtec made in Germany" represents products designed at the cutting edge of high tech and innovation.
On behalf of all exhibitors, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the AUMA - Association of the German Trade Fair Industry and the supporting associations wish all participants a successful show and extend a warm welcome to all visitors of the German Pavilion in hall 10 at stand 10A11!
